group policy 2003 server

I have 25 XP Pro client pcs with one windows 2003 server. Each user is pertaining to each department like sales,purchase etc.

I want to create Group Policy for each deaprtments and apply to them. What is the starting step to create the group and policy.

I tried myself, but it is not effecting in the XP pro client pcs.

Please help Me....

What did you do then maybe we can help you fix what you did wrong? Do you have the group policy management console?

What I've seen happen

is the GPO will not take affect right away. You will either have to force the GPO to update on the client machines, or edit your policy of how many cached credentials it stores. I believe the default is 10. If you set this to 0, it makes sure the client machines authenticate directly with the Domain Controller each time someone logs on rather than using what could be an outdated cached entry.
