Group Policy not propagating due to network errors

by greenelantern . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

The following errors appear in my Event Viewer
“Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to contact the active directory (0x8007054b). The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
Enrollment will not be performed.”
AND
“Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. ). Group Policy processing aborted.”
While my hardware is mixed (some gigabit adapters, some 10/100, and random switches and routers) I know that location has nothing to do with my issue because computers many hubs apart have the same issue as a computer on the same branch as the server. I am using Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Pro, so I don’t believe compatability with gigabit adapters should be a problem, and I disabled mediasense with no positive results (so now it is back on). Communication with the server is working, because my roaming profiles are loading properly (even if a little slowly). Does this sound familiar to anyone? any insights on how to solve this?
