What do you mean by “unlocking”?

If it is not spinning then there are a few things you can try. For one, you can try holding it in your had and shaking the drive back and forth (in the direction the platters would spin). And then immediately plug it back into the computer and turn it on.

If that doesn’t work, I have heard in many cases that putting the HDD in a plastic zip-lock bag and then leaving it in the freezer over night will free it up for a little bit of use before it dies again.

This sounds like a laptop with a bios password. You wil need to contact the manufacturer or take it to the shop.
You can try flashing the bios, but in some machines this will cause more problems.

      Unlocking?

That Can Mean A Few Things

      BIOS
      CMOS
      VIRUS
      OR
      FRIDGE

Question 1 Is A Good Answer

However I Think You Mean Unlocking It

Are You Trying To Format It And It Says Enter Unlock Code

      BSI Boot Sector Infection

A Virus Might Be Present In The Boot On The HDD And Locked It To Morce Or Unicode Win Or So

Try Using The ALT Key Sequence To Unlock It During A FDISK Format/Partition

      Goodluck

(PS Try Be A Little More Presiste Next Time)

      Thanks Bro
