Smart capability A fairly new addition to the average Bios is hard drive Smart capability. Smart stands for Self Monitoring Analysis And Reporting and it allows the early prediction and warning of impending hard disk disasters.
It's difficult to recommend enabling or disabling this feature, as it does slow down your hard drive marginally; but if you're worried about your hard drive failing, it may be worth using. Don't forget to run regular Scandisk sessions (see Storage).
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
