I bought a USB Cafe Pad, and thought it was the ultimate geek-toy.
Whilst I was very excited to try it, I was soon very disappointed with
the lacklustre performance. It never heated up to over 50?C, and
coffee would inevitably get cold (although it took a little longer than
usual). The chances of a USB port proviving enough electricity to
actually heat up a lukewarm cup are very remote. My geek-toy now
resides in a drawer somewhere…
Even though it seemed a good idea at the time, ultimately it was a
waste of money. Maybe I’m simply too geeky for my own good. I now
get more exercise walking to the kitchen so that I can nuke my cold
coffee in the microwave oven, and then walk back.
