leased obtain 10/14/08 11:00:00 am
leased expires 10/14/08 1:00:00 pm

thats the example, is it on my lan card, on my dsl or what... hope you can help me with this one...

it means

it just means (I think) that your DSL provider will give you a new I.P. after 1:00 pm in this case

At a guess it's to do with the plan that you purchased form the Provider

by OH Smeg In reply to help on dsl connection

Most Plans have a Expiry Date for the plan at that cost and then you can chose to continue paying at that cost or chose another plan that offerers different services.

can not be

can not really be that, why would a plan last for two hours???

Well for starters the OP said Example

by OH Smeg In reply to can not be

So the provided Dates & Time where an example but even then it could be a Limited account which prevents massive downloads/access in Peek Hours of use but allows unlimited downloads or access during Off Peak Periods.

It really depends on the Plan Purchased here and you could be correct it could be a IP Address change but again that's in the Plan.

Check your Modems manual

by Jacky Howe In reply to help on dsl connection

and recheck all of the settings on your Modem. Your lease should be longer than that.

Did you try this, only two things to do

by Jacky Howe In reply to not possible provider wit ...

I don't know if it is when I changed my modem from bridge to router or by hard resetting it. Anyway my lease is renewed every 3 days and not every 2 hours which is enough.

Have you paid extra

by Jacky Howe In reply to tried it

for a Static IP Address. Your connection is more than likely Dynamic which means that it will change its connection or update it every 3 days.

So now you have a connection

by Jacky Howe In reply to tried it

for 3 days. I think that you should take it up with your ISP if it isn't automatically connecting.
