    Help with DVD

    I have an Aopen DVD Model 1240 when I install it I get an I/O error since I have been using XP as an operating system. I didn’t have the problem with Win98.I cannot seem to find a driver anywhere

      First, the IDE driver for the chipset on the motherboard takes care of all driver functions for IDE drives except for DOS mode access.

      Have you tripple checked the cables, jumper settings, and BIOS settings?

      Have you installed the XP critical updates for DVD and software compatability?
      Many drives do not function in XP without the compatability updates installed.

      What about DVD player software?
      Most players need to be updated / replaced for XP. The old versions just do not work in XP.
