How Do I change File Association Types in IE7?

by kphayes710 . Updated 16 years, 2 months ago

I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. My clients use IE7. I know in Firefox you can change the File Types by going to Tools > Options… > Content > Manage… File Types. I use Small Business Server for my clients and they use the Share Point Services to view faxes, among other things. When they try to open the fax the browser uses a Quicktime Plug-in to show the document. In Firefox I can tell the browser to use a certain program to view the certain file types. In Windows the file associations are correct and I disabled the MIME extension for TIFF/TIF files in Quicktime. When I disable the plug-in, in IE7 the fax will not load and I am not given any options how to view the document.

Is there a place I can change the way IE7 associates TIFF/TIF files when loaded? Or has Microsoft decided to not allow you to change this?

Thanks in advance for your help!
