How do I copy a formula into multiple cells

Im trying to create a very easy spreadsheet =sum(b5*c5)on column "d" but i want to copy the formula to b1000 and c1000 is there an easy way of copying this formula.

Sorry for being clueless ?

Copy and Paste!!!???
Copy (CTRL + C) on Cell D5.
Then Paste (CTRL + V) on Cell D1000.
I am surprised that you do not know this.
And the formula will multiply and not sum both the values

Or, you can try this out.....................

Using a $ before the cell reference will make the formula always refer to the same cell, e.g. =$A$2+5 will always refer to cell A2, where as =A2+5 will change depending on where the cell is that you are pasting the formula into.
