How do I print the directory structure?

By bcardwell ·
Is there a way to get my directories and subdirectories into a printable format like in word? I am running a netware 4.11 server and need a printout of the directory structure and subdirectories. Is there some software that can do this?

Drop to a DOS prompt. Change directory to root of volume. For just the folder structure:

Win32 way:
DIR /s /ad >output.txt

NetWare way:
NDIR /s /do >output.txt

There was also a TREE.COM utility in MS-DOS 5 and 6, but it's version specific...if you have an old DOS workstation still networked, try that with the output redirected to a file as in the above two examples.

Cheers,

Ray

There is also a software package called Powerdesk, which has the ability to print tree and file structure. Although, it is limited in that you need to open all folders for them to be printed (particularly painful if you have a large complex maze offolders/subfolders). A version is available for free or full version for $20
