How do I start the web server in a Cobalt Qube 3 Business Edition

By ronb ·
I have a Cobalt Qube 3, Business Edition that I'm trying to put into service. The company I bought it from assured me that it was in full working order, restored with the latest OS (Sun Cobalt OS V6.4) and all the patches. This seems to be the case, going by the fact it is 'clean' (no user accounts / data, default settings, etc.). All 'Services' are 'green light' except the web server (red light, severe problem, web sever not running). I have access to the login screen via Ports 444, 81 and to Tomcat via Port 8080. No Port 80 access. Question: How can I get the web server running?

See bottom of this page for hints on why tomcat wont start.

my first guess is that something else is using the port...Sun has some sort of web-based remote console tool.

maybe check snmp settings?

by seanferd In reply to See links

If snmp is on, perhaps there is a rule set for port 80 & tomcat.

Good idea, but apparently not the problem.

I turned off the snmp server and rebooted, but the web server still isn't runnning (Status = red dot, server not running). I've gone through the manual several times, but no mention on how to start the web server, with the possible exception of running the Setup Wizard. Unfortunately, I don't know how to restart the Setup Wizard once the installation and initial setup has completed.

Tomcat is alive and well on Port 8080

Tomcat is running. I've gone through most of the doc's at the link you provided, but didn't see anything that addressed my current problem.
