How many Unix servers do you administer?

By texas_gal ·
I'm taking an informal survey of Unix SysAdmins. My hubby takes care of over 80 machines, all Unix and a couple Linux. The group I'm interning with take care of about 20 machines each, there are three people. I don't think they are that busy. I'm sure that varies; depending on how the whole system is running.

one person who knows what they are doing can competently administer about 100 servers, with an average of 50 workstations per server.

and still have time for themselves.

gotta love cron jobs.
