So I am trying to apply for my first job in IT at a local, small firm. The position is for a support technician, and in the job desc. it clearly states no high level of exp. needed, just a willingness to learn and somewhat computer savy.
Now I have been doing an internship at my current job in the IT dept since august, but the problem is I don’t really DO anything…lol. It is more like a classroom session with my mentor (who is a systems admin) just telling me what he’s working on for the day, and discussing things I can’t even begin to understand quite yet. I meet with him 2 days a week for an hour each.
I am also currently in school getting my associates in computer network systems. So I think this job, as basic as it is, would be extremly helpful to do on the side as it is part-time. It gives me real-working exp. and the hands on skills that I need to pick up for down the road, that I am NOT getting from my internship.
So how do I add a useless, in the fact I do nothing, but useful in the fact it is the only IT related thing I would have on my resume so far, onto my resume??
p.s the most hands on work I did in 3 months, is plug a phone in the jack…lol
