How to add files to a received message in Mozilla Thunderbird

by sachin.adhikari . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

We have recently started using Thunderbird. My Organization has mandated that all email attachments will be received only as a link. Original attachment is saved on mail server. We only receive a link to the file. Once download from the server, the attachment needs to be stored in some folder. Post 7 days the attachment link in the email expires. How can i edit a received message and just save the attachment into this email. In Ms Outlook this was possible by editing the inbox message and then just pasting a file or a message in the mail. Just save the message and done. Attachment / file saved forever in the message.
