First convert your mp3's back to wav's, then use the Real Player software to create ra's from the wav's.

If you have the program, Sound Forge can directly convert most media formats. If not, use Winamp to rip the mp3s to wavs, then download real producer basic and use it to convert your wavs to ras.

I could be missing something here related to the intent of the conversion but here are a couple comments.

MP3 is a compression technology to reduce the overall size of a sound file and can be adjusted to various levels of quality reproduction. The quality level has a direct impact on the file size. It is a widely accepted file format, is highly portable and easily played on various computing and audio devices.

Rm and ram files are a content delivery technique involving the streaming of content to the end user eliminating the necessity to download the entire file prior to seeing the content. The base file that is streamed still has to be stored on some server somewhere. Here I must state I have never converted mp3 to ra so I dont really know the actual size differences involved. It also tends to be used to "control" the ultimate content delivery from user alteration during or after the delivery.

Lastly - if size is of concern now, conversion to wav is going to make it aHUGE concern. Remember MP3 is compressed and WAV is uncompressed. One 4mb MP3 uncompressed to WAV is going to be just plain huge.

So in summary certainly the conversion can take place, the tools are available, though generally not free, but I still wonder whether this will really solve the underlying concern.

The simplest method I have found to convert music files between formats, whether they be in RA, MP3, or WAV, is with RealJukebox Plus. The basic version of RealJukebox cannot convert files. This is an inexpensive purchase, $29, which more than pays for itself in simplicity and functionality. Four RealAudio quality levels are supported (32 Kbps Mono and 44/64/96 Kbps Stereo), 11 MP3 quality levels (32 Kbps Mono and 56/64/96/112/128/160/192/224/256/320 Kbps Stereo), and 1411 Kbps Stereo Wave.
