Heres a general idean of designing a network directory services infrastructure using the Windows O/S platform.

Forest plan, Domain Plan, OU plan, network Topology plan , and if you don't run AD, Active Directory implementation plan. along with that, you'll need DNS placement, GC placement,DC placement plans, Schema plan, as well as delegation of administration delegation plan. The design team [team meaning more than one person involved in the design process]gathers information from the different disiplines in the organization [including upper management] by interviews and conducting surveys to define the goals and requirements for the organization.

once those surveys are done to obtain the basic parameters of the organizations needs, the desgin process begins which inherently gets revised many times before the final design is agreed upon and can be implemented.

Whether its a small, medium or large business, this is the overall steps to developing a design plan.

Bandwidth may be an issue if you are storing your music on your NAS. Depending on how many stations are sharing the building you might want to do 1gb ethernet or fiber.

Also you need to configure AD for your news manager and file server. You need to autheticate somehow and make sure everyone has that needs it has access to the NAS.

Scalability will be an issue because a NAS limits somewhat. You also need to account for current and future bandwidth usage, backbone needs, etc, etc, etc. Lots of stuff...

Are you building this from the ground up or is this homework?

I agree with the others that have posted here, you'll probably need a consultant to help gather info for you. Or you need to gather a lot more info than you've posted here.

Look for a Cisco Certified Gold Partner in your area. What you are heading into will be expensive if not planned, designed, installed, and configured correctly.

Once you have a design scope. Ask for competive bids.

If you need to go remote sites look for a company like US LEC. They can provide a total solution for Pots, VOIP, and interconnectivity between offices.

Are you broadcasting media on your network?

You should start off with the cables: Use CAT6 certified cabling. This type of cable has a cert of 550 MHz or higher which will give you a fast 1GB connection and should support any future expansions of Ethernet. Make sure all cables are CAT6 and that the wall plates are CAT6 cert... if your runs are long then you'll have to setup wiring closets and run fiber from them to the main closet...then use CAT6 from the patch panel to the wall plate. You also have to consider the cable paths. If you have a lot of lighting and power wires where the CAT6 will be run, you'll need to spend the bucks for shielded CAT6. If the cable backbone is done correctly you should have peak performance for 10 or more years.
Next step would be the switches.... managed or unmanaged.... as you can see setting up a dependable network is a process and there has to be a lot of questions that need answering...if you would like contact me and I will help as much as I can.
