How to disable Tablet Input Panel (TIP) for a specific application

    Locked

    by jonathanwake ·

Hello going mad with this one,

I need to disable the TIP function on windows Vista Business on a Lenovo x61t. I use the Laptop for drawing and with the guesture activation of the TIP this is being serverly disrupted. I wish to set a per application setting so that the TIP is deactivated for Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I have worked out how to switch the TIP off completely but this is no use as it is such a piece of vital software when I’m not drawing.

    Thanks,

    Go-Go.

      Disabling Tablet PC Input Panel

      http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms812266.aspx

Setting the DisableInPlace registry key to zero prevents the Input Panel user interface (UI) from appearing in an application. You must place the DisableInPlace registry key at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\TabletTip\. Then, add a new registry value by using the full path of the application in which you want to disable Input Panel. The following example registry entry disables Input Panel in an application called MyApp:

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTIP\DisableInPlace]
      “C:\Progam Files\My App\MyApp.exe”=”1”
