How to hook my laptop to my computer ASDL broadband

I have a one port router on my Desktop Computer, however i sometimes use my laptop for study and need to access the net. Is there any way to hook my laptop up to the desktop router are there any plugins i can get to attach to the one port router. My laptop does not have wireless.
Any suggestions please

There are some options

1) Get a multiple port router (many routers have 4 or 5 ports for LAN connection)

2) Get second LAN card for your desktop, then share the one connect to internet. Use a cross cable connect your laptop to the second LAN card of your desktop. Or you can get a hub or switch to use regular cables to connect your desktop and laptop.

I have a Belkin Hub i can use on my laptop

I have a Belkin hub i can use on my laptop. Did not know i could use it for this. Can i ask for your help (written instructions) of how to set this up for connecting as i am a computer user and not very savvy on the IT side of doing things.
