how to setup cluster server for Win Server 2003?

By hachimo ·
Hi,

I'm using a server installed Windows Server 2003 to use as the domain server for my LAN network. My question here is: how to setup the cluster server using 2 nodes to serve as the domain server for the network? I have the other PC(same configuration as the server being used as the domain server), my LAN cards and cables ready, but I don't know how to setup the 2 nodes to work together as 1 server.

In my case, do I need to buy a different version of OS? If yes, can you recommend me which version should I buy to use?

Thanks,

You don't use clustering for things like domain controllers because they have good application failover mechanisms. You can have two domain controllers without clustering and you'll get all the benefits without the complexity of clustering. Things like DNS also falls in the same category because you can have multiple DNS.

Clustering is normally used for something like a database server.
