How to use SBS 2008 without a static Internet IP address?

by bill . Updated 17 years, 3 months ago

I’m setting up an SBS 2008 server, it’ll be behind a firewall on a LAN with typical private IP address 192.168.1.xxx.

The WAN side of the firewall connects to a cable modem, IP address is prvisioned by DHCP.

I want the SBS 2008 server to be my email and web server for my domain. Since my public IP address is DHCP, is there a way to do this? Maybe involving DynDNS?

How do I set up SBS 2008 to use DynDNS for my domain resolution and MX record management?

Does SBS 2008 commicate with the DynDNS service, or can SBS 2008 directly manage and propagate it’s own MX record, etc?
