HP 4300c Scanner Issues:

by peejay . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

Hello,
I just purchased an HP 4300c Scanner for a co-employee’s PC. She is running Win98. I had tons of problems getting it to work. First, I installed the software with the USB drivers. It acted like it worked, but then when I wanted to run the software later, I was told in an error message very simply that “You do not have enough memory.” This wasn’t a blue screen, it was just an error box that simply stated that I didn’t have enough memory. Well, I checked my memory and I had 5 GB free. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it using the drivers for the parallel port. This time no problems and everything worked fine for about a week. Well, the co-employee decided to move everything around on her desk and when she re-hooked everything back up the scanner stopped responding. I checked all of the possible connections and they were correct. I need help. Please respond A.S.A.P. Thanks
