HP Laser Jet 4...52 ERROR !!!

By Logic2 Tech ·
What does this error refer to?
also, where on the net can I find hp's error codes. I've tried their site, searching, yet no luck yet.
I also need the correct driver for this printer, does anyone own one and can tell me?

Thanks much for all info

HP Laser Jet 4...52 ERROR !!!

by ec364 In reply to HP Laser Jet 4...52 ERROR ...

Error 52 means the printer identified an internal service error. If this error appears, switch the printer OFF and then back ON. If the error continues, call your dealer or HP service representative.

The printer driver for HP LaserJet 4 (also for4M & 4M Plus) is built-in in Windows 95/98/NT/2K install CD. Just add a printer and choose HP LaserJet 4 and Windows will install the driver from its CD.

Follow this:
1. Click Start/Settings/Printers
2. Click "Add Printer"
3. Follow the succeeding prompts by specifying HP for manufacturer and HP LaserJet 4 for printer. Windows will ask for the CD if the CABS are not in your hard disk.

Enjoy!

Continuation of Proposed Answer 1.

Here's the link for error messages for your printer from HP's web site:

HP Laser Jet 4...52 ERROR !!!

Thanks for your support, I found the answer to my problem by searching other places on the web, but I'm being fair and going to give you half credit for the great answer.
http://www.all-laser.com/error.shtml
and
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/nationaltonertech/lx52.htm (Ufix-it)
both told me it is the scanner assembly gone bad.
And also installed it w/ win 98cd just in case. You answered pretty fast, so I'm thinking you do this kind of stuff often?
I just got dragged into fixing peoples printers. I've got an A+ knowledge of them, but guess I'm about to learn more. If you do this (fix printers & such) maybe we could keep in touch...
Thanks again
Mike
