Hi,
I’ve two Cisco 4506 switches; on which I’ve created around 10 VLANs.
now I have configured HSRP on both the switches. but it doesn’t seem to be working as expected.
one thing I specifically want to know is do I need to configure a different standby group number for each VLAN interface ?
please go through the part of the configuration below give your expert views:
For switch A :
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.16.1.2 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.1.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 priority 110
standby 1 preempt
interface Vlan10
ip address 172.16.10.2 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.10.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 priority 110
standby 1 preempt
!
interface Vlan20
ip address 172.16.20.2 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.20.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 priority 110
standby 1 preempt
For switch B:
interface Vlan1
ip address 172.16.1.3 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.1.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 preempt
!
interface Vlan10
ip address 172.16.10.3 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.10.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 preempt
!
interface Vlan20
ip address 172.16.20.3 255.255.255.0
standby 1 ip 172.16.20.1
standby 1 timers 5 15
standby 1 preempt
