few things to check

by NexS In reply to i can ping the server and ...

1: Has the server-side application been setup properly?
2: Has the client-side application been setup properly? (ie: may be a setting that depicts the server name or address)
3: Is there an application service supposed to run from the server? Have you checked services.msc?

Mapping

by jgirizarry In reply to i can ping the server and ...

Assuming the error message you posted is coming from the HR application when you open the program and not knowing the software you are using, I would recommend to check if you need to map from the clients to the correct server folder in order for the program to work. Some server side applications might even need to map itself in order to work. In other words you might need to create a mapping drive from the clients to the server, unless, the setup configured the server side during installation. Anyway, check the manual because if you have remote access and you can PING, the network is fine and it could be a setup error. Disable any firewall and retest.

Cheers

MAPPING

by dwinz In reply to Mapping

I already did map the client to the server folder and i also disable the firewall in the server and the client and i also disable the anti virus.

you should never disable the anti virus

by NexS In reply to MAPPING

you should only input an "exception" for the application
