I keep getting master browser error 8003, TCPIP 4199...

By electripunk ·
I am running winxp pro sp3. I have installed a test server using apache2.2 running php as mod, and also running mysql 5. I believe this all may have something to do with my issues.
I keep getting master browser error 8003, TCPIP 4199, and Dhcp 1002

How can I get rid of all of this? I have had the test server up for 1 week, and started having these problems 3 or 4 days ago.

Any ideas? I am not running any sophisticated software or hardware. Just a simple laptop with plenty ram, speed, and space.

Just a simple laptop?

by seanferd In reply to I keep getting master bro ...

I see at least 2 computer names. Is there also a router? Tell us what is on the network, and post the output of
ipconfig /all
from each computer.

"The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.1.100 "
Two devices cannot share the same IP.

"Computer: JCS-LAPTOP

There are two devices in contention right there. The Apache server, if it has its own adapter, may qualify as a third.

However, a NIC may possibly be failing, and that is the cause. Otherwise, something is misconfigured.

You may want to turn off DHCP, and assign static addresses. Make sure you have a subnet mask like 255.255.255.0.

Beyond these guesses, we'll wait to hear back from you. Good luck!

how do i get to ipconfig/all?

by electripunk In reply to Just a simple laptop?

I do not know where to find ipconfig/all

I do have a linksys router with 2 other wireless connections other than my own, but they do not show up on my network and sharing.

should I set up a wpa or wep network instead of an unsecure one? John PC is not in my home or one that I know

Yeah, I'd secure the wireless.

For ipconfig, you need to open the command prompt: Start - Run - type
cmd
and hit enter. then type
ipconfig /all
at the prompt.
