Try disconnecting the printer and running a self test.
Try using a different computer.
Try a different printer cable. (probable cause)
If this doesn't work, please post your Operating system and printer type.
Good luck

Hate to ask the obvious, but have you moved your printer or CPU lately?

It is possible that the printer cable itself is loose or damaged. Replace it with a known good printer cable, securely fastened to the CPU and the printer.

loose or bad printer cable.
install new printerdrivers.
or if its a matrix printer , the baude rate between the printer and the pc dont match.
If the selftest prints good, you will know its a software issues, else its the printer itself.

See if the printer works properly when directly connected to another computer. If the problem follows the printer, it may be that the logic board on the printer has shorted. If the printer works fine and another workstation then it points back to your computer.

Have you updated NAV to the most current Anti-virus definitions and run a complete scan on this system?
