IBM INternal Tape SCSI ID Setting

By jessremoto ·
I have an Internal tape drive IBM 27L 1265 DDS 3. It was not connected to the SCSI Cable.
When I connect it detect as ID 0 and server not booting.

How can I change it to SCSI ID 8 OR other ID?

You'll have to help us here

With a link to your Tape Drive as I can find no reference tot he Model that you listed.

Depending on what it was connected to by the Data Lead though it is possible that it is not a SCSI Drive just that the System sees it as such.

With a lot of the older IBM Drives they where not SCSI Drives but where seen that way to make management of the system easier.

The product # FRU 27L1265 DDS 3

it is connected at the other end of the SCSI cable. Where as the second one is connected to the SCSI backplane while the first one is to the motherboard.

OK this is a SCSI Device then

Pull it out of the computer and alter the Address Jumpers to give it a Number of 8 as you require then refit and use.

You need to give it a SCSI Address that isn't being used by any other device on that SCSI Channel.
