IBM PS1 w/Windows 98 and HP Scanjet scan

By jim ·
I have been trying to get an HP flatbed
scanner (HP scanjet) to work with an IBM
PS1. It has worked before with Windows 95.
We installed 98 on it in place of 95, and
now every time we go to use the scanner, an
error dialog box stating that another
application is using the scanner and to
close the other app.
Problem is, no other apps are running. I
then installed it on a notebook with the same
resources, and it works fine. Does anyone
have any hints or clues on this type of
problem? I replaced the HD with a 4.3Gig unit in place of the .5Gig unit the machine had in it originally that had the Win95 on it. So we started with a clean install.
Any help here would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Jim

Your HP scanjet model does not work with Win98. There is a fix but too
expensive [ See HP site ].
Hope you would like to go back to Win95.

I don't know how old is your scanner but you should download and install the latest drivers of your scanner. Go to the HP site. Another easy way to find drivers : www.winfiles.com
