IBM Thinkpad 600

By bam98 ·
I have purchased a second hand Thinkpad 600. I know the battery can be charged but does not charge on this machine. I assume that it will charge without software, so am I missing the obvious?

Your IBM ThinkPad 600 uses a Li-Ion battery that lasts for 2 hours when fully charged. As long as the power cord is plugged in to a power outlet, the battery charges even if the ThinkPad is being used. You don't need a software for this. Yes, you are probably "missing the obvious." The only time that it would not charge is when the battery is dead. Since it's a used one, chances are the battery is shut. Get a new battery.

I know the battery is good because it has been charged on another thinkpad. Thinkpad configuration recognises the battery has 59% charge, and tells me it's charging. This is not the case though.
