IBM Thinkpad- headwrecker time

by oz_media . Updated 19 years ago

OKay after a teardown, clean and reassembly, my Thinkpad BIOS was reset. The FN keys that dim or brighten the display seem to be screwed.

The adjustment usually runs in about 5 or 6 increments, dark to light. As you use the FN keys with the brightness control keys (HOME/END)it goes from DARK to LIGHT on each step. Instead of increasing in increments, it’s almost like an OFF/ON situation where the graduations are not working.

Details:
Thinkpad R31-2656EEU, PIII 1.13GHz, 640 MB RAM, WIN2K.

I am quite sure it is a BIOS setting or driver issue as the settings were wiped out during reassembly, all drivers have been updated, chipset, display, AGP, FN key access etc.

IDEAS??
