IDE controller and CD Burner

by gtziegler . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I have upgraded from an AMD(K6)200 CPU and older MB to an ECS K7AMA with a 950 Duron. I also copied my Hard Drive from a 1.2 to a 30 GB using DriveCopy and installed in the new box. I have transferred my 8x4x32 CD burner from old box to new. Everything booted fine on first try but I get errors in Device Manager. Yellow exclaimation marks on my Primary and Secondary IDE controller (dual fifo). If you check Properties it states “This device is not present, not working properly, or does not have all the
drivers installed.” I have installed the hard disk controllers in several ways, updates, etc. ALI M5229 PCI Bus Master IDE Controller. The other problem is the CD burner is unusable. Try Software(Nero)worked prior to upgrade. I get anerror saying my “SCSI controller not supported by Nero.” (I have no SCSI) CD Rom is OK reading. No reported burner problem on system. I have crucial data on this drive. No backup w/o burner.
I’m using 128 SDRAM, Win 98, 80 wire cable on hd to MB(Primary controller) set as Master, standard cable on Burner.
