Now before you think what sort of dummy posts a “Q” as this here is the symptoms. User on our LAN tells me he couldn’t connect to the internet, checked settings, was set for proxy server which we don’t use, changed it, volah, on the net. Five days later he tells me he can’t get on the net, check settings still cool, can ping everywhere with average response time, in fact IE finds whatever site you want, but it times out trying to load, now thats where the fun begins, you name itI did it, blew away network stack, reinstalled it, reinstalled nic drivers, IE5 and finally Windows(over Windows)checked TechNet, found a “Q”, thought it would help Q175722, it didn’t.
(Dell laptop PIII, 3Com/Dell PCMCIA nic, getting IP from DHCP, others can connect)
I’m close to tears…
Any ideas?
