I spilled soda on my Playstation 5 and it wont turn on now. Should I get someone to look at it or how do I fix it?

If you can’t find a repair guide on Google or Youtube, bring it to a repair shop.

Long ago I got a dead PS3 and used Sony’s OOW exchange program.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for someone to remotely confirm where the problem is occurring. Could be a fried circuit board or something as simple as an internal, tripped surge protecter that might be able to be reset. Yes, you need to take it to a local repair shop.

You’re best bet is to replace it as fluid and electricity do not mix very well. Best case scenario is the components will be destroyed on the circuit boards inside the thing but it is far more likely that the solder joints on every circuit board will be corroded and no longer passing and electrical signal.

Doesn’t matter what type of electronic device you have NEVER HAVE ANY FLUIDS AROUND THEM as you will destroy them completely.

Another thought, soda with the added sugar can cause much more damage to electronics then water alone. We had a desktop computer (Apple II) have a bird’s water dish fall on. We immediately pulled the power cord and my uncle, was able to dry it out and still has and uses the ancient system from time to time with his family as a hobby. Best wishes to the OP.

It is a mild acid that breaks down all the metal contacts, tracks and so forth inside the unit.

Even if you somehow managed to fix it now very shortly in the future it’s going to break again with another problem caused by the acid you have poured through it.

I remember a NB I got in no longer working and when I pulled the bottom off it I found milk inside the unit the owner blamed me for pouring the milk into the unit as her children would never do such a thing.

The OP doesn’t want to admit just how (reckless) that they where by having any sort of fluid near their play toy that they knocked over or dropped onto the unit.

Don’t turn it on and make it fry itself, you should open up the case and work on it yourself getting rid of all the sticky soda or if your a lazy sigma like me you can send it off to get fixed.
