If I want to draw on a tablet should I get a bluetooth pen for it?

I was getting a new Ipad and I was wondering, if I were to draw with the Ipad should I get a apple pen? The pen is expensive so I was wondering if it was worth the price or not?

You are not required to buy/use a Bluetooth pen made by Apple. You can buy an economical stylus to use instead. I did that on an older Samsung tablet and had no problems.

Looked at the Metapen Pencil A8 for Apple iPad 2018-2024, (0.1mm Pixel Precise) 2X Faster Charge, Tilt Sensitivity Stylus Pen for iPad 10/9/8/7/6th Gen, iPad Pro 12.9/11/13-inch M4, iPad Air 3/4/5/M2, iPad Mini 5/6 for under 20 dollars.

Why not get a pen and see how it works out?

You don’t have to, but having a pen might improve the drawings you make unless you are a finger painter.
