IIS Migration

By john ·
Hi,

I am planning to conduct a migration from IIS4 on an NT server to IIS 6 on a W2k server on a different domain.

My question is --

How can I migrate from IIS4 to II6 with a change in OS and across to another domain??

Many Thanks in Advance

John

Just set up the new server, and copy the files... the NTFS permissions will stay intact.
This assumes that if you move the files to a temp storage, that it is a member of the domain, and NTFS.

So basically you've created a bunch of custom user/group permissions on your inetpub directories?

This is pretty in depth and has to do with sid histories and proper account migration.

Do a google for IIS Migration tool. It's the first hit you get.

so you want to maintain your user and permision ..

try search at google about ncs tolls, it can export and import your user and you SID . but all that it can do..or you can search microsoft resource tool.

Hope Help
