I'm trying to log on to my remote desktop, but I keep getting the message

By Peaches390 ·
getting "this computer can't connect to the remote computer", I went into "System Properties", as the help buttom stated, I'm supposed to go under "Remote Desktop", but I don't have that, I only have the Remote Assitance. I'm supposed to go under Remote Desktop and click on "allow connections from computers running any version of remote desktop". What can I do to get this to run?

if it is home pc the admin account can be any user that was set up. Who set the computer up when it came out of the box?
Could you please explain in detail what is happening? what 2 computers are you using? work pc remoting to home pc? what operating systems you are using. has this ever worked before? The more detail you give the easier it is to troubleshoot.

If the remote PC is XP Home Edition, you can not set up Remote Desktop. If the remote machine is XP Pro go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/getstarted/remoteintro.mspx
To set up Remote desktop on Vista Business, Ultimate, or Win 7 go here:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/turn-on-remote-desktop-in-windows-vista/

My system is a Windows Vista Home Premium, I've never been able to remote in before, so you think it's because of the sytems I have?
