Import of Informix to Sql Server

By Sandra.DeMuth ·
Hello -

I need to schedule the import of four tables daily from an Informix database to Sql Server. I am running Sql Server 2005 on Windows Server 2003. The Informix database is Informix 2000.

I tried to schedule an SSIS package to run and am having connection problems. Avaya is the vendor selling a database called CMS. They provided me only with OpenLink ODBC 5.2 for a driver. All this seems to be able to do is import into MS Access. This does not work with oledb.

Does anyone know of any way I can get around this problem? ANY suggestions at all will be appreciated!

I have done this job by fetching the data from Script task and then to XML file.
Now from the XML file i bulk load the data into SQL Server 2005 table. Its working fine for me.
But im looking for some efficient way out. For now i dont have the identity columns from that i can figure out the changes in the informix tables; thats why i have to do DELETE and INSERT technique
I'm looking for some more smart way; just to capture the changes and to put them in my system.
Can anyone else has some better solution?

Hi - can you post the code from your script task that you use to import the data? I am struggling with this in SSIS as well - thanks!
