Install Third SCSI Drive to HP Proliant ML350 G4

By alcaloid90 ·
Hi

I'm working with a server HP Proliant ML350 G4 and it currently is configured with a RAID 1, I need to add more storage because there's less than 1GB available. I could only get a hold of one 72.8 GB SCSI drive, and it would be a third drive in this server. If I just plug it in, will it expand the storage automatically even though there won't be a mirror for this hard drive? Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

NO it will not expand the storage area it will need to be formatted and it will appear as a separate HDD that you need to copy stuff to.

However if you move some files to this HDD that will then become part of the working system but It Will Not be part of the RAID and you will have no redundancy.
