Intel Gigabit NIC not working on Gigabit?!?!?!

By kris ·
Hello all! Maybe one of you have had this problem! I have an Intel DG965WH Motherboard that has a built in Intel 82566DC Gigabit LAN adapter. For the life of me, I cannot get this NIC to work in gigabit mode. I am running Windows 7 Pro x64. If I kick the NIC back to 10/100 it works fine, but not Gigabit. I read somewhere it may have to do with power, but still cannot find any solutions. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!! Kris

You might need to go to the Intel website for updates..

Have you tried Intel's website for updates to your motherboard?
Make sure you have ALL of your updates for the BIOS (most important since everything goes through it).
Make sure you have ALL of the motherboard drivers and updates to the drivers.
I have "Driver Fetch" loaded on my Windows 7 64 bit system and it downloaded the Intel updates that i needed, more here:

You can download it and let it do a test for your system and see if it picks up the Intel updates for your motherboard.

Hope all goes well.
