Intel's new naming conventions

By DanielSmith ·
I'm looking at buying a new pIII, but I'm confused as to which one to buy. I want a 133mhz fsb that is a slot 1 type, 800mhz, preferably. What is Intel's name for this cpu? Is it PIII 800EB? If not, what does the E and the B mean? and what is coppermine, anyway?

The cpu name is the coppermine which has the eb added, which Intel added to identify the board version, this can be better explained at the site here www.tomshardware.com,will give you reviews on motherboard and cpu.

Had to dig a little, but I found it eventually. Still don't know whether it is slot 1 or socket 370, but with the mb I'm getting, it doesn't matter.
