i have a small network of about 40 computers connected to each other using a switch and a proxy server to access the internet. the problem is that some computers are not connecting to the internet even after configuring the ip address and the proxy. av even tried disabling the firewalls but still. the proxy server is running on redhat.

DNS working?

by robo_dev In reply to internet

Assuming the workstation can ping the default gateway and ping the DNS server, then do a nslookup at the command prompt, e.g. nslookup

Many viruses hijack/break DNS on PCs.
