Internet Access

By brian.bartlett ·
My customer can access Web sites but when he attempts to access a secure website the page times out. This happens on all secure websites.
Any clues what the problem is and how it can be rectified. Customer is running on Windows XP and IE6.

Check to see if cookies are enabled. Many secure sites require a cookie be placed for identification in case of unauthorized access attempts.

A friend had the same issue. It was due to firewall preventing them to interact with the site. Turn firewall off and go to the site to see if anything changes, then test firewall functionality. Also in IE6 there is a browser security slider, lower the slider to see if change.
