Internet Block

by jcrites . Updated 16 years, 7 months ago

I am the new network admin and my predecessor didn?t leave behind much information on the systems in the network.

I need to figure out how he blocks internet. Any IP in the range 192.168.100.60-160 is blocked. They get a dns error at the bottom of their IE.

We have a Pix 506E and I have access to it via browser with the Cisco Pix Device Manager, but the password is different for telnet so I cannot access it that way. I do not see any access roles that block internet via PDM. Can access lists setup through telnet not show up in the PDM?

The ipconfig of the blocked computers are exactly the same as unblocked computers. On the blocked computers I can ping outside servers like google. In a browser if I put in the ip address of google, 208.69.32.231, it is also blocked. Would this mean that DNS is not the culprit?

It cant be a GPO because I installed firefox and it is also being blocked.

I also do not see any settings for a Proxy.

Any help is very much appreciated.
