By belarminov ·
I have got a wireless connection through a PCMCIA device for a 3G connection that I wantted to share with computer around the house. For that I bought an access point/router and which is connected to one of the desktops via cable as it does not host a wireless interface. They can all comunicate on the LAN/WAN enviroment however when I share the internet connection on one of the wireless Laptops it does not work (no other computer can access the internet). Can anyone help?

Thanks very much

OK what you have to do here may push your excess usage way over the top

But you need to run the Network Setup Wizards. Start on the system with the 3 G WAN CARD in it and tell that system that it connects directly to the Internet and that other computers on the network connect through it. Then go to the next computer that is n the WiFi setup and tell it that it connects to the Internet through a residential Gateway or another computer on the LAN. Remember to allow the sharing of Files & Pinter's if you need this and then see if you can start a Internet connection off the original computer.

You may need to go into the 3G setup and allow for other computers to allow a connection to the Internet to be established remotely.

Most 3G plans have a upper limit of 20 hours and this isn't the ideal method of connecting a LAN to the Internet as it can push your excess usage way over the top very quickly.
