Intranet with Document Repository and OWA????

by j_parks81 . Updated 17 years, 3 months ago

Hi, and thanks for reading this.

I have an up and coming project to plan and undertake a Intranet site for our small business (60-70 staff), this would be beneficial if it could include a searchable/indexable Document Management System, and hopefully the possibility to access mail out of office via the WWW. All this for as little cost as possible!!!

The Intranet isn’t too much of a problem, using open source programs this can be set up.

The Document Management System seems a little harder to produce for little cost, I have narrowoed it down to
1 – Sharepoint Services (free with Server 2003?)
2 – Alfresco opensource DMS
3 – OWL opensource intranet DMS
4 – Knowledgetree opensource DMS

I have only had time to try Alfresco at the moment, but hoping to try the others as soon as test machine is up and running.

OWA, we use outlook 2000 on our network, using exchange 6.5.

I was hoping someone could tell me if OWA is included with Exchange server?? I have’t got the cd to try yet….Or if there is another way this can be accomplished..

We are hoping to get all of this running form an extra page on our website….so all can be accessed on site/at home etc??

If anyone has had experience with these options or has implemented a similar system your views would be greatly appreciated.
