I incorrectly specified a rack server which is being used a file server for an IP surveillance system.
The system currently has 18 cameras and is still expanding but XP Pro has other plans and isn’t happy with more than 10 users.
I have been quoted for SBS 2003 which I was prepared to purchase only to find that the server onboard graphics doesn’t work well with SBS and a new low profile graphics card was recommended. All this will cost me around ?600 and is beyond my budget.
The server manufacturer said (unofficially)that XP user limit could be bypassed which would allow multiple cameras to write to the drives simultaneously.
Can somebody confirm, deny or advise me on this statement.
Kind Regards
Dave
