We have a client that is using a cable modem for his network and is using a Netgear router. We did not want the entire network to be DHCP since problems have popped up before with this setup on the proprietary software. To get the cable modem to work through the router, we had to adjust all of the IPs by 10, i.e. 192.168.1.101 became 192.168.1.111, and it worked (I could not determine why it didn’t work with the 101). Now, the client wants the server on the cable modem as well. I’m leary ofchanging the IP of the server and since the address is within range, I’m a little confused as to why it wouldn’t work.
Any ideas?
