IRQ Errors

By lstncegy ·
I was recieving an error message of "Pci IRQ's are improperly loaded by the computer" at boot up. What would cause that error and how can it be fixed? OS=windows 98se.
no changes were made to the computer.

IRQ Errors

Whee -- that sounds like a fun error. Well, here's how I resolve PCI IRQ conflicts: go into the BIOS (press DEL at startup for most systems) and enter PNP/PCI options, and enable "reset configuration data". Save options and restart.

If that doesn't set it right, you may have to look in the device manager in Windows and see what the offending device is. Then remove that card, run the system without it once, then replace the card. That is a more pushy way of resetting the configuration data.

Hope you don't have a bad PCI card (highly highly unlikely). Good luck!
