Hi all,
I am doing a network install along with T1 installers. I will be
setting up a router/switch and client/server network for about 20 or
so users. The one T1 line will be shared for voice and data.
They will be supplying on their side a adtran 612 csu/dsu(with
built-in router) that will connect via ethernet to their 12/24 port
switch.
From their, I will plug in to a port on their switch and connect to my
router of firewall. From their connecting to my own 24 port switch.
What would be the reason to go with a Router like a cisco 1841 sec/k9
as opposed to a Cisco Pix appliance (506E). I’m sort of split between
the two. VPN capability will be important among other things like DHCP.
