Is it possible to set my desktop computer to shut down automatically

I want it to shut down if its been ideal for an hour or so?

I'm running windows xp

You can use scheduled tasks to run the shutdown command. Google it for instructions :)

I've always wondered why this isn't in Power Options via control panel or screensaver. You can have the system do anything but a straight shutdown. Standby, turn of drives & monitor, hibernate...

It's a handy feature. I have it on all my computers but my server and my main gaming computer. So my parents, the one in my bedroom, in our office, in our shop, everything, all auto shutdown at 11:30.
